Centre for Neuroscience in Education

Dr Manon Couvignou is a Wiener-Anspach Postdoctoral Fellow working at the Centre for Neuroscience in Education since October 2023.

Biography

Manon holds a double Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Modern Literature from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie and from the Sorbonne Nouvelle and a Master’s degree in Cognitive Sciences from the École Normale Supérieure (Paris, France). She carried out her PhD in Psychology at the Université libre de Bruxelles in Belgium, under the supervision of Prof. Régine Kolinsky. Her thesis, entitled “Music and reading disorders in childhood: comorbidity, cognitive overlap, and developmental trajectories” investigated the relationships between developmental dyslexia and congenital amusia, two neurodevelopmental disorders that affect a particular cognitive domain, namely reading and music perception. Her current project aims to characterize the melodic and temporal skills of adults with dyslexia at behavioural and neurophysiological levels, in relation to their phonological and reading difficulties.
