Carmel completed her BSc in Psychology at the University of Bath and her MSc in Applied Neuropsychology at the University of Bristol. During her undergraduate degree, she conducted a placement year at the Brain and Early Experiences (BEE) Lab at Boston University where she worked as a Lab Manager. Here, she assisted with data collection for the Infant Coping and Development project which investigated hormonal stress changes in 1 year old infants in relation to mild challenges.
As part of her BSc placement year, Carmel presented a poster at the Eastern Psychological Association Conference in 2019 titled “Maternal Stress and Hostility Relate to Child Pro-Social Behaviour at 3.5 years”. This utilised data from the BEE Lab at Boston University.
