Dr Sara Caviola

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow

Biography:

Before coming to Cambridge, I completed my PhD and held research positions at the Department of Developmental Psychology, University of Padova (Italy), where I was also affiliated with the Memory & Learning Lab (Department of General Psychology, same University).

Research Interests

My primary research area falls into the wide field of mathematical cognition and cognitive processes from a developmental point of view, principally focused on understanding the cognitive basis of mathematical difficulties (developmental dyscalculia).

My work spans developmental, experimental psychology, and now also neuroscience. Recently, I have become interested in emotional factors involved in mathematical learning (especially maths anxiety), strategy selection and eye movements.
