Hsiao-Lan Wang gained her PhD in Neuroscience in Education, entitled Developmental dyslexia, phonological skills and basic auditory processing in Chinese, in March 2011, studying under the supervision of Professor Usha Goswami. Her research examined the behavioural characteristics and neural mechanisms of dyslexia in Chinese, and using the data gathered from this research has published papers in the Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience and Reading & Writing. Hsiao-Lan received her MEd from the Mind, Brain and Education program at Harvard University.
Prior to studying in Cambridge, Hsiao-Lan worked as a research assistant in the advanced biomedical MRI Lab at National Taiwan University Hospital. She now has a teaching post at the National Taiwan Normal University.
